Due to the Covid-19 pandemic face to face counselling has been suspended until further notice. Telephone and online counselling using a secure platform is available for all clients.
I’ll continue to be available for all my current clients for the duration of whatever lies ahead. And, if you’re not a current client and are stuck indoors and finding anxieties or other worries tough to deal with then don’t hesitate to reach out.
If you’re new to the idea of online or telephone counselling then rest assured it’s easier than you may think and can be a really effective form of therapy. Online / telephone counselling can actually offer a few benefits over traditional face to face counselling including –
- Accessibility – Online and telephone counselling are easily accessible, all you need is a phone or internet connected device and somewhere private to sit.
- Convenience – No wasted time travelling to your therapy sessions, waiting for the bus or looking for a parking slot. Sessions can easily be scheduled to fit around other commitments. Think of it as your time out from the stresses of daily life.
- Comfort – Therapy from the comfort and familiarity of your own home. If you want to sit back and relax, pop on your slippers, enjoy a cup of tea or even cuddle your cat (or dog) during the session you can. You could find that feeling relaxed makes it easier to talk about things that might otherwise feel uncomfortable to approach.
- Aftercare – It’s common after counselling sessions to feel tired, emotional or your mind might be full of thoughts. Being at home when a session has ended might make it easier for you to relax, rest and process your feelings and thoughts.
There are many studies that have shown the effectiveness of online / telephone counselling and now it’s easier to access than ever.
Social distancing does not have to mean emotional distancing.
See you online. Emma xxx
